5 Best Books on Senior Cares
What to read when you are in a Senior Care environment. This is one of the burning questions that senior citizens have come to answer over the years. After all senior citizens want to know what is going to be best for them. I was asked that question today by my good friend.
She asked me, “What are your top books on senior care?” I thought about that for a while and realized that there are many out there. In fact I have many that I could not figure out which one is the best. That is when I decided to write down some criteria so that we both knew what we were looking for. The following are some criteria that I came up with.
Number one, the book has to be written by an author who really knows what they are doing. I don’t necessarily mean this in the obvious way, but it does mean that a book has to have some knowledge of senior care. You can learn a lot by reading other books by the same author and seeing how they cover a topic.
Number two, the book has to be affordable. Of course you want to find a book that has value. I looked at several books and even found one on a five hundred dollar book! There were a couple more that were over one thousand dollars.
Number three, the book has to make a difference. I tend to think that people write books to make a point. They then hope someone reads it and learns something. That happens in most human societies. That is why I tend to prefer books on leadership, development, healthcare, self-help and etc.
Number four, I look for books that are not the typical political animal tale. I don’t like books where the subject of politics gets involved because I tend to get too involved in the personal emotions of the author. Number five, I am looking for a book that makes an impression on me. I’m not in for someone boring who gives boring advice.
Number six, I want to find a book that has significance to my work. I love studying theories behind various fields. I love learning about scientific methods and principles. I also love to read biographies of people who have had great accomplishments in their fields. If you can show me a good book that has relevance to what I do, then you have found a treasure.
Number seven, I want to know who wrote the book. If a famous person wrote it, then that makes it even more valuable to me. Number eight, I want to know if the book can help someone solve a problem that is haunting them. Number nine, I want to know how many revisions it had undergone. These are the reasons why I love best books on senior citizen care. The knowledge in these books is priceless.

“I don’t read self-help books or anything like that, so bear with me.” Never before has a book elicited such a wide range of emotions in me. The clarification, descriptions/definitions, and examples in this book all make perfect sense. I’ve always felt hollow and lonely on the inside, and I’ve never been able to figure out why. This book examines the reasons for those emotions, as well as several others. There is a section devoted to both sons and daughters of narcissistic mothers, so this can be useful for anyone, not just daughters of narcissistic mothers. All is divided into sections and is extremely educational for those learning about this type of violence. Until recently, when I finally cut my mother out of my life, I had no idea narcissistic abuse was a thing. Despite the fact that she had crossed a boundary I had set regarding my baby, which was the final straw, I still felt a mountain of GUILT about my decision. This book convinced me that I made the correct decision, as you can discover by reading it. The author describes the different forms of narcissistic mothers, as well as what each child is (the golden child, the scapegoat, and the missing child), and what each title entails.
When my mother was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer, this storey started to form in my mind. I was caught in the middle of caring for my mother and raising my teenagers for two years. Some days were fantastic. Some days were particularly difficult. Every day, I felt like I was letting someone down. I was concerned for my children while I was with my mother. I was concerned that something about Mom’s treatment would be overlooked while I was with my dad. I felt I was alone in this, and I think I would have gone insane if it hadn’t been for my ability to find humour in the dark.
